How to Apply for a Certificate of Good Conduct Online From Interpol Uganda

Directorate of Interpol and International relations Uganda has launched an online portal to help citizens apply for a certificate of good conduct and police clearance.

Keep in mind, the application fees remain unchanged for the two certificates, i.e. UGX76,000 for the certificate of good conduct and UGX23,000 for the police clearance.

Let’s look at how you can apply and pay for a certificate of good conduct and police clearance online, shall we?

Step One: Visit the Uganda Police Force website on www.upf.go.ug and click on the Services tab and select Certificate of Good Conduct option OR type service.upf.go.ug/certificates in the browser.

Step Two: Register a new account or log in to your account. Make sure to consent to the different terms of usage and conditions. For new accounts, you will be required to confirm your email address.

Step Three: After logging in, the online portal will provide you with three (3) options of New Applicant, returning applicant, and an option to complete the application.

Step Four: For New applicants, click the button and fill in the preceding forms with your details. Choose payment options to finish your activity for a new applicant. The payment mode includes cash, mobile money, POS, Credit/Debit Cards, and Cheque options to ease your experience. Remember when you choose the cash option, you will be required to print out a bank slip and pay the fees in a bank.

Step Five: Make sure you make payments for the service and log in to your account again. Choose the option of a complete application. Take note that failure to pay your Application fees within two working days means cancellation of the transaction.

Step Six: Book an Appointment for Fingerprint capture at the Interpol office. You will receive an email confirming the date that you have selected together with the requirements to go with.

Step Seven: Print your payment receipts and application preview pages and wait for your appointment date.

On the day of the appointment, you will be required to come with the following documents;

  • Two (2) passport size photos
  • Two (2) copies of your National ID or Passport
  • Copy of application preview printed from the system
  • Copy of Receipt printed from the system

Take note, the Certificates of Good Conduct or Police Clearance issued will be valid for six (6) months.

Cognizant of the threat of the spread of COVID -19, Interpol’s effort to introducing an online portal for tracking and applications of the Certificates of Good Conduct or Police Clearance is dully welcomed.

Huawei Launches the 2021 Edition of Seeds for the Future Programs in Uganda

Huawei has kicked off the 2021 edition of the Seeds for the Future training program virtually in Uganda.

The launch has been officiated by H.E Ambassador Mugisha Fred the Deputy Head of missions of the Ugandan Embassy and acting Ambassador in Beijing. He called upon the students to use the seeds for the future program to create networks that will further their ambitions in life.

“it is worth noting that the government of Uganda acknowledges the importance of ICT and its able growing revolutionary input, therefore I would to thank Huawei for this (seeds for the future) good initiative which not only connects people to people connection but also goes a long way to sharpen the minds of young Ugandans. To the students, as you participate in this program, use this chance to connect with people connections to create networks that will further your ambitions in life,” said Ambassador Fred Mugisha during the virtual launch ceremony.

The seeds for the Future program was launched by H.E Yoweri Museveni in 2016 and over 40 Ugandan Students have gone to Chine up to 2019. Approximately 150 have taken part in the online training up to date since the 2020 online program.

This year’s online training program has attracted as attracted 119 students from 15 universities of Uganda both public and private universities such as Makere, MUBs, Lira, Gulu University, Soroti, Nkozi, and Cavendish university among others. 

This eight-day virtual training consists of three-hour pre-recorded courses and 13 hours of a live stream in technology entry-level and advanced sessions such as 5G, A.I., and Cloud.

The seeds for the future program shall cover hot topics of the tech industry such as cyber security and also give interactive visit sessions to the Chinese Great Wall and other sites.  

According to the deputy managing director and Public Relations Director of Huawei Uganda Mr. Gaojian,

“Because of COVID-19 global pandemic and its effects on transport, borders, and gatherings. We have been encouraged to live what we profess as an ICT Company by introducing an online version of the seeds for the future program.  During this program, we have made full use of the benefits of; learning and communication without borders, showing the future communication trends through welink, a sense of exclusivity of a teaching form, and the convenience of not being restricted by the place among others”.

He further encouraged the students to attend the virtual training fully for them to be able to graduate, acquire Huawei certification, goodies, and internship opportunities.
